Russische Kulturtage
The Koeppenhaus and the Institute for Slavic Studies of the University of Greifswald invite you to the Koeppenhaus for Russian Cultural Days from 16th to 20th January.
In addition to amusing and satirical texts by Mikhail Sostchenko and Vladimir Sorokin reading at the bar on Wed, 16 January at 7 pm with Christiane and Stephan Waak, two films “LETO” (Thu 17 January, 8 pm) and “DONBASS” (Sat, 19 January, 4 pm) will be shown. While LETO, directed by Kirill Serebrennikow, who has been under house arrest for over a year, captures the true story of the legendary Russian rock band Kino and the attitude to life of a generation longing for freedom shortly before perestroika, the media-critical farce DONBASS by Sergei Loznitsa shows the bloody war between Ukrainian government troops and pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine.
The Russian author Sergei Lebedev (born 1981), who lives in Berlin, will present his new very personal novel “Kronos’ Kinder”, published by S. Fischer Verlag, on Friday, January 18 at 8 pm. The novel deals with the closely interwoven Russian and German history and the author’s German roots.
On Sunday, 20.01. at 7 pm, the Institute for Slavic Studies will present Russian theatre and Slavic songs with its theatre group and the choir “Choryllisch”.
